Heart Falls Out at Abercrombie!

This past Saturday, I got to hang out with two Chicago Archies (shout out to Allie and Antoinette!). On my way out of the mall, I was walking past Abercrombie, and I could hear a familiar song. As I listened closely, I could tell that it was David, and then I immediately recognized that it was Heart Falls Out! I felt as if my heart stood still. I just thought it was too good to be true! Of course, I had to capture this amazing moment and took a video on Instagram. Keep in mind, I haven't heard a David song in a public place in a really long time. I just love that it was such a random song! And the best part was that there was a little girl dancing, which was really cute.

Has anyone heard a David song lately when you least expected it? If you do, feel free to share a story or send in a video!

...singer David Archuleta (literally a rock star but currently a full-time Mormon missionary).

"David things"

Recently I read a cool post on Fanscene from Sharon G. about "moments that take our breath away." Though that was the point of the post, what struck me is when Sharon said some of those moments were "just David things." It got me thinking, I've had my own share of interesting, almost freaky "David things." As small as they may seem, I thought I would share a few.

One cool "David thing" that comes to mind is when I saw David at Six Flags New England back in 2010. It would be my first time seeing David since the Christmas From The Heart tour about 8 months before, and as you all know David hadn't done many shows that year, so needless to say I was excited. I remember during the two hour drive to Six Flags, I blasted David's album in the car, and suddenly "Touch My Hand" came on. That song always reminded me of seeing him live (since it was his opening song on the Demi Lovato tour) and I always loved how into it he got. A part of me thought it would be really cool if he sang it at Six Flags, but I figured it was a long shot, considering all of the other songs he could sing at the concert.
Finally we arrived at Six Flags and it was time for the concert. Suddenly, David comes running out on stage and what song starts playing? What else but "Touch My Hand." He was actually singing it at the concert! I couldn't believe it! Just hours before reminiscing about the song and hoping he would sing it, and he actually did! Definitely a memorable "David thing" for me.

Another "David thing" was during the My Kind of Christmas tour. I went to the concert in NYC and had VIP, and after a long day of travelling to NYC and waiting outside the venue, finally the VIP started. David would be signing a photo for everyone and then taking pictures. Now mind you, I hadn't met David in over two years, and it was pretty nerve-wracking. I went up to him, put the photo on the table for him to sign and handed him an envelope with some letters. After he signed the photo for me and took the envelope, I hate to admit it, but I completely froze right in front of him! I had gone completely blank, literally standing there staring at him, and David just looked at me and gave me the biggest, sweetest smile - which put me even more in awe!! lol But what I've always found interesting is, David's encore at the show that night was "Little Drummer Boy," and one lyric in that song is, "Then he smiled at me." I always seem to think of that lyric differently because, he indeed smiled at me.

Aside from those moments, other "David things" I've experienced is hearing "Imagine" on the radio the day David was going back on American Idol to perform the song back in 2010. Yes, it was most definitely a coincidence, but undoubtedly another "David thing." Also just happening to turn on the radio and hear "Crush" on David Archuleta day back in 2010, another awesome coincidence and "David thing."

Have YOU ever had one of those cool, random, almost freaky "David things" happen? Tell us in the comments!

What the random?

Another random post on this lovely Friday!

First, found on FOD, apparently David was shown on Entertainment Tonight last night during a segment on the passing of Donna Summer, when ET interviewed her during the S7 finale:

Second, from Ana:

Aww! Not gonna lie Ana, we miss him too!

Next, found on Fanscene, a sweet tweet to Kari from @tatoropel, who is a member of the Symphonie Jeunesse (click the image below to make it larger):

Also, this may be a tad late, but there's lovely David "Imagine" mentions in the following articles, after Joshua Ledet performed the song on Idol this past week:

Access Atlanta:
It’s hard not to compare this with the low-key original or even David Archuleta’s subtle take.

Yahoo Music Canada:
Once again my hopes for unpredictability from Joshua were dashed when he went with this overdone "Idol" staple, one that is still associated in many viewers' minds with David Archuleta's landmark performance from Season 7.

NJ.com:
“Imagine” has been done before in more memorable fashion (David Archuleta comes to mind).

MARKSWORLD:
It wasn’t a great arrangement, and it took me back to when David Archuleta nailed this song in Season 7.

And lastly, one of my fave mentions...
Gossip & Gab:
Although honestly, I do have to question how we ended up with “Imagine” at this point in the competition when David Archuleta already went there and did that and who wants to be compared to one of the most iconic song of Idol history?

And last but not least, I thought I would share this with everyone. I posted this in the Artistic Fans of David Archuleta group on facebook yesterday. It's a page from my David scrapbook, full of tickets, wristbands, etc. from David concerts! It might be a good idea for anyone who doesn't know what to do with any concert tickets :)

Who agrees that David's performance in Tulsa from the last show of the Idols Tour was one of, if not THE best performance of "Angels" he's ever sung? Let's take a look back...
