10 Years of Crush Kids Cancer - New Project!

In Summer 2008, Crush Kids Cancer: David Archuleta's Angels was started by PecanPie as part of Stand Up 2 Cancer's fundraising campaign. Crush Kids Cancer soon became SU2C's top team, raising $95,949 in the last decade for Stand Up 2 Cancer.

As we approach this year's Stand Up 2 Cancer broadcast on September 7, Crush Kids Cancer is back with new products, this time to celebrate 10 years of fundraising!

Sip your tea or coffee out of this new mug, all while celebrating 10 years of Crush Kids Cancer!

Show your CKC pride by wearing one of our new 10-year anniversary buttons! Buttons come in round or square, perfect to decorate a denim jacket, add to that ongoing pin collection you have, or to pin onto your David tote bags!

The cheapest and most lowkey of all our new products is our 10-year anniversary postcard. Send to your family or friends, release some postcards into the sky like David, or put it on your fridge to remind you of your part in celebrating 10 years of Crush Kids Cancer and helping us become and remain Stand Up 2 Cancer's top team!

Not only that, but anyone who purchases one of these four 10-year anniversary products will be entered into a giveaway hosted by Ashley! You'll have the chance to win this signed photo of David (received by Ashley on February 27th at David's concert in Portland, Maine).

Crush Kids' Cancer: David Archuleta's Angels 2014 Summer Fundraising Challenge

In the past, Stand Up 2 Cancer would a 2-week long summer fundraising challenge right before their televised broadcast. This year, although SU2C will be doing their broadcast on September 5, 2014, they are not hosting a fundraising challenge like years past.

So, I thought, just because SU2C isn't doing a challenge, that doesn't mean Crush Kids' Cancer can't!

Starting today, August 22, until Stand Up 2 Cancer's broadcast on September 5, Crush Kids' Cancer: David Archuleta's Angels will be doing our own fundraising challenge! Our goal is to raise as much money as we can for Crush Kids' Cancer within these two weeks!

To donate, click the big, orange DONATE button on the right, then click the red DONATE NOW button on our team page!

We want to see those numbers going up over the next 2 weeks, so please donate! No amount is too small and all of the proceeds go to Stand Up 2 Cancer to help find a cure! If you are unable to donate, we always appreciate spreading the word! Share with your friends and families, on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, etc!

Twitter Trending Party

On Thursday, September 4, 2014, we want to trend on Twitter just like we did 2 years ago!

2013 David Archuleta Christmas/Birthday Project from Crush Kids' Cancer!

Crush Kids' Cancer: The Kids' Chapter:
2013 David Archuleta Christmas/Birthday Project

As many of you may remember, last year around this time, The Kids' Chapter held our David Archuleta Christmas/Birthday Project, selling ornaments with proceeds going to Crush Kids' Cancer: David Archuleta's Angels as our Christmas and Birthday gift to David.

This year, we're at it again with a newly designed ornament made by The Kids' Chapter team member Lynsey!

From now (Nov 1) to the end of the year (Dec 31), you have the chance to purchase this new ornament and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Crush Kids' Cancer as our Christmas/Birthday gift to David!

The ornament is $13.95 and will hang nicely on every Archie's Christmas tree, or could be a great stocking stuffer! If you do not celebrate Christmas but still want to be a part of this project, you can always purchase an ornament and give it to someone you know will love it, or donate it to a local hospital, etc.

Like last year, after this project concludes, we will be letting David know how many ornaments sold and how much was raised for Crush Kids' Cancer!

Last year's project was a success, let's make this year's project an even bigger success!

Ashley recaps the Stand Up 2 Cancer event

The Kids' Chapter:
After a long flight from Boston to L.A. early Friday morning, the day went by fast as the Stand Up 2 Cancer show was going to begin in just a few hours. After getting ready and heading to the Shrine Auditorium, I picked up my tickets and soon met up with PecanPie! It was great getting to talk to her again. Soon after, Mary Lou (Pastel) and Marge arrived! It was awesome getting to meet them!!

Eventually we took our seats and the show began. A lot of the stories shown were really sad but it made for an interesting feeling throughout the entire room as everyone watched these stories of people all going through the same thing, the thing that we were all here to stand up to and CRUSH. But it was really cool to see Justin Timberlake, Sofia Vergara and Robert Pattinson, to name a few, plus see Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys and Tim McGraw perform! It was also cool to see how a live show is done, and how quickly people have to move to keep it going.

Soon after, it ended and we met up with Mary Lou and Marge. We were all invited to a reception that Pecan would be speaking at afterward, so Mary Lou and Marge offered to bring us with them in their car so we would all be together. There was quite some confusion finding their hotel, but I didn’t mind because I got to see a lot more of L.A. that I originally wouldn’t have! lol

Finally we did make it to their hotel and hung out with them for a bit before taking a cab to the place where the reception was being held. It was a party with fancy food and swanky people, but I just liked getting to hang out with Pecan, Mary Lou and Marge. Then Dave Filice came! It was awesome getting to officially meet him and talk with him!

Then Pecan made her speech, and she did great. She talked about David and Crush Kids’ Cancer, then said little blurbs about each of us who were there and why we’re so dedicated to the team. I really liked how David and Crush Kids’ Cancer were still being celebrated that night, even though David isn‘t
                                             here.

The rest of the night seemed to fly by and eventually we took off back to our hotel. It was a great first time in L.A. and a really special event to have gone to. It was awesome getting to see Pecan again, and also meeting Mary Lou, Marge and Dave!! They’re all some of the nicest people I’ve ever met and it was so much fun getting to hang out with them all.
