AI Tour '08 Rosemont Recap!

Yesterday marked the 5 year anniversary of the AI summer ’08 tour making a stop at Rosemont, Illinois. I was able to attend the show with my siblings. Thinking of what happened during that time, I remember that it was such a great and crazy experience. Not only was it my first time seeing David perform live, but it was my first time meeting him. I can recall being a nervous wreck as I was waiting in front of the barricade outside of the Allstate Arena with my siblings and a few friends. I was thinking of what I was going to say in my head and how I was going to hand him my gift. I also decided to hand him a copy of my ticket to sign. When it was my turn, being the nervous wreck that I was, all I could say was, "Hi! This is for you." I handed him my gift, which was in a Kohl's bag, and he responded, "Aww, thank you very much!" Then I asked him to sign my ticket. As he was signing, I kept reminding myself not to freak out in front of him since we were both holding onto the ticket! Although the exchange with David was short and I was only able to talk to him for about 30 seconds, somehow I managed to get a hug from him, which was the best moment of the day. Yes, the exchange was short, but it was worth waiting outside in the rainy and sunny weather for 5 hours. It was definitely an experience to remember, and little did I know that I would experience more concerts and meet David several more times in the future.

Here are some pics from the event!

Ashley recaps the Stand Up 2 Cancer event

The Kids' Chapter:
After a long flight from Boston to L.A. early Friday morning, the day went by fast as the Stand Up 2 Cancer show was going to begin in just a few hours. After getting ready and heading to the Shrine Auditorium, I picked up my tickets and soon met up with PecanPie! It was great getting to talk to her again. Soon after, Mary Lou (Pastel) and Marge arrived! It was awesome getting to meet them!!

Eventually we took our seats and the show began. A lot of the stories shown were really sad but it made for an interesting feeling throughout the entire room as everyone watched these stories of people all going through the same thing, the thing that we were all here to stand up to and CRUSH. But it was really cool to see Justin Timberlake, Sofia Vergara and Robert Pattinson, to name a few, plus see Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys and Tim McGraw perform! It was also cool to see how a live show is done, and how quickly people have to move to keep it going.

Soon after, it ended and we met up with Mary Lou and Marge. We were all invited to a reception that Pecan would be speaking at afterward, so Mary Lou and Marge offered to bring us with them in their car so we would all be together. There was quite some confusion finding their hotel, but I didn’t mind because I got to see a lot more of L.A. that I originally wouldn’t have! lol

Finally we did make it to their hotel and hung out with them for a bit before taking a cab to the place where the reception was being held. It was a party with fancy food and swanky people, but I just liked getting to hang out with Pecan, Mary Lou and Marge. Then Dave Filice came! It was awesome getting to officially meet him and talk with him!

Then Pecan made her speech, and she did great. She talked about David and Crush Kids’ Cancer, then said little blurbs about each of us who were there and why we’re so dedicated to the team. I really liked how David and Crush Kids’ Cancer were still being celebrated that night, even though David isn‘t
                                             here.

The rest of the night seemed to fly by and eventually we took off back to our hotel. It was a great first time in L.A. and a really special event to have gone to. It was awesome getting to see Pecan again, and also meeting Mary Lou, Marge and Dave!! They’re all some of the nicest people I’ve ever met and it was so much fun getting to hang out with them all.

Tiff's AdVENTURAAAA!!! (recap)

Yes, i just stole Allie's title.. :P (but she allowed me to)

My recap of the David Archuleta Ventura, California show on December 16, 2011.

Alright! So planning this very day took a lot of time, effort, and responsibility for this 14 year old right here. The day before the concert, I flew from Chicago to California with JUST my brother! (i claim to be the one more in charge but he's got the credit card. ahaha) THE FLIGHT GOT DELAYED LIKE A MILLION TIMES so we arrived at around 12AM PST but we were hungry so we went to In-N-Out Burgers♥, had to unpack and everything.
Yummmmmmm
CONCERT DAY: I woke up and got ready... Then the two hour drive to Ventura was alright.
When i saw that sign, i was happy! but we were still like 20 minutes away. haha
We arrived at 2 and went shopping and went to the pier in Ventura! (such a cute and pretty city!)
Perfect shot right?
I went and met Ms. Allie and her mom *also from Chicago* and Kelly from Cali! :D We waited for like an hour and a half until we could check in and get inside.
So we gotttt in... and we waited to get our pictures taken! wahoo!! But while we were waiting, WE RANNNN to the second row to get great seats in the middle :D then RANNN back to take our pictures. teehee I don't know why, but when i saw David, I kept saying "OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH! DAVID'S RIGHT THEREE..." because you know? I've never really seen David outside my computer screen besides the Demi tour but i had legit bad seats to that.. :P *I went after Kelly and Allie went after me* When it was my turn next, I was ABSOLUTELY not nervous. I was nice and calm! I couldn't believe I totally pulled it off because if you were in my mind, I'd be that happy, energetic bunny hopping everywhere.. :D
My convo with David:
Me: Hey David!
David: hey! Nice to meet you!
Me: do you know me?
David: *looks confused*
Me: Well I'm from Chicago!!
David: oh wow! That's so nice of you!
Me: Yeah. I'm 14!
David: what?? *looks confused*
Me: I'm 14!!David: wait what?
Me: I'M 14 YEARS OLD..
David: ohhh.. You're 14......
Me: yeah! I flew here with my brother!
David: oh! How old is he?
Me: ummm.... 18. Haha
David: oh! Is he here?
Me: no...
David: is he coming to the show tonight?
Me: no.. Hahah
David: where is he?
Me: oh.. Um. Somewhere around here..
David: why isn't he coming?
Me: oh.. Well.. I bought 2 VIPs and my aunt was suppose to come but I brought Allie's mom instead!!
David: oh! Okay!
*takes picture*
Me: can i have a hug please? :)
David: yeah sure!! \_____^-^ *one arm hug haha*
David: well thanks for coming out!! I hope you enjoy the show tonight! :)
Me: haha oh I will!! Thank you! I love you!!
David: hahaha!!
*runs down to Kelly and stares at Allie with David* :PYeahhh he's the picture! picture :)
AHHHH HE'S SO SMILEY! i look worse then usual then but oh well

Allie's AdVENTURA! :)

Hey Archies! Allie here! I thought I would write a recap about my trip to see David this past weekend! So as you may know I'm from Chicago, Illinois and since David didn't have any Midwest dates planned I didn't think I was going to a show this winter. I talked with my parents and were like hey! I haven't seen David at all this year, but is there anyway we could maybe take a min trip to see him? At first they said no, because most of the tour dates didn't work out with our schedules and the ones that did, VIP was sold out, so I just kinda let it go. One day my dad randomly was like hey do you want to go see David? And I was like yeah...Air fair was cheap and he agreed to letting me fly to LA to go meet David at the Ventura, Cali show! Well, finally the day came. I actually was missing my trig final to go to the show, so I had to take it the day before...but anyway! So Friday, the 16th, the day of the show, I woke up at 3AM central time, curled my hair, and got ready to drive to O'Hare airport in Chicago with my mom. We got to the airport by 4AM and it was so pitch black out that we couldn't figure out how to get to the indoor parking the led us to the United terminal. So we parked outside, and walked forever to get inside to our terminal. We finally got there, and eventually we boarded the plan at about 6:30AM! The flight was a long one, about 4 & a half hours, but hey that gave me some time to sleep since I didn't get much the night before. We landed in LAX earlier then expected at around 8:30 pacific time, which really felt like 10:30 to me, and then got to the rental place, which lets not talk about it took forever to get our car, HAHA, but eventually we made it to our hotel in Ventura. Next door to our hotel was an In 'N Out! I never had In 'N Out so I thought this was the best opportunity to have it. After my mom and I ate, we headed back to the hotel and rested up. It was going to be a long day since we weren't going to be use to the time difference. After we napped we got ready for the show, and headed over to downtown where the theater was at. We got to the theater around 2, saw the bus and people lining up, but we decided to just head over close to the VIP time and actually enjoy our time around the town, so we went and looked at all the cute little shops. Eventually when my new friend Kelly said she arrived we thought would be a good time to head over, and then my friend Tiffany who is also from Chicago showed up! We all hung out took some pics together, and talked I love them so much! We also talked with a ton of other archies.
Finally it was getting time to go in for VIP. There weren't too many people at our VIP compared to others, probably about 50 or so? So okay, we lined up, but people like ran over to reserve their seats so we were like okay, 1, 2, 3 and we ran so we could get could seats for us all and we ended up getting 2nd row center! Woo! Kelly was the first of us to meet him! She was SO cute, her's was very short and sweet. The Tiffany met him. She told him how she came from Chicago, about her brother, and how she gave Allie's mom her VIP and a ton of cute other stuff they talked for a good amount of time! It was her first time meeting him, and I was so happy for her! When she mentioned my name to David he looked over at my mom and I and smiled. And then it was my moms turn to meet him, she took the picture right away with him, and then told him how she loved him on idol and would vote for him, and just how awesome of a role model he is for me, so David looked at me again and smiled so I smiled back again to him just standing there waiting, it was awkward haha. So the whole time I was thinking and I really didn't know what I was going to say to David. I've always wanted to sing with him, and it was actually one of my goals, or new years resolutions I guess you can say for this year. My dad always said allie, you should tell him you are a singer, and maybe he would sing with you. So I was like okay i'll do it. When it was my turn to meet him. I kinda just went up to him and asked for a hug! And I said "Hey David! I'm Allie!" and he goes "Oh heyyy!" And i was like how are you? I'm from Chicago! And he laughed and said "I'm doing good, and haha i know how are you?" and I was like "I'm good!" So then we started to take the picture, but then I was like "Oh wait! can I ask you something" And he was like "Uhhh, sure! Go ahead, ask away!" and smiled so I did it, and I said, "well, i'm a singer and I've always thought it would be a dream come true to sing with you!" And he goes "Really? well what do you have in mind?" And I said "we could sing Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, thats a duet right? I could sing the Charice part!" And he was like, "but I don't sing the full song as a duet during the show!" And I go oh, yeah, well i didn't mean during the show, we could sing any song of yours since you know it then!" And he goes, "no, you pick, you don't have to sing one of my songs, it's your dream right?" And I go, "haha yeah I guess, well hmm? Lean on Me, you know that right?" And he goes "perfect! You start, i'll add in harmonies!" So then I started the first verse, and I really don't remember when he started singing with, it was all a blur to me, but we sang the full first verse and chorus. After I finished, everyone in the room was clapping and cheering me on, and David said, "WOAH! I wasn't expecting that! You are so good, that was awesome, you are such a good singer!" And I was like aw thank you so much David, it was an honor to sing with you since you are such a musical inspiration to me, so thank you! And he was like "no, it was an honor to sing with you! You were so good!" And then I just said "thank you!! Well we should probably take this picture now hahaha" And he laughed and was like "Haha yeah! Almost forgot about that, we should!" So we took the picture!, and hugged again. And he said bye Allie! see you later! And i was like bye, don't forget about Chicago! And he goes "oh don't worry, you got it!" And then I just walked away with the best feeling ever.

Melissa's Recap of the Irving Plaza Show :)

Basically I went with Ashley to this show, we took a bus to NYC. Once we got there we basically waited a few hours for them to let us into the venue, we get checked in and everythnig. We got a poster, and 8x10 picture, a lanyard, a draw string backpack and a t-shirt. Me and Ashley wanted to purchase the sweatshirt so we went over and did that. I also bought some pins because one had ths squiggly pig on it and I thought that was amazing.

At one point me and Jenn noticed that there was this paper that had the schedule of the show one it. I DIDNT EVEN READ THAT THING AT THE TIME. I was just like BDSFBEUSYBFk WANT. lol. Jenn showed me it and was like "should we take this?" and I was like "well, there's only two... let's just do it" lol. So we hid them in our bags. No one even noticed.

Then the security people had us lin up single file line. Which wasn't really single file line. Me, Ashley and her mom were like stuck on the stairs lol. But once we started walking upstairs we hopped in line behind Jenn and a few other people.

Then we finally got up there and we see the DAVID ARCHULETA backdrop abjsbhfusbheik which made everything start to become a reality. It was crazy. The had the line wrap around the room. We got to go up to David twice. First time we got something signed, second time we got a pictrue taken.

So, I knew I wanted my poster signed because I LOOOOVEE that picture. So I walk up to David and right when I do he goes over to Kari (i think it was her) and whispers in her ear LOL. And then I put my poster on the table and say "Hi, my names Melissa" BTW IT WAS REALLY REALLY LOUD. And I was't completley sure if David said "Oh, hi Melissa" or 'Oh, hi Alyssa" IDK IF HE HEARD RIGHT. So I retold him my name. Didn't realize I was supposed to say "can you sign this to Melissa" but oh wells haha. Then he tries to start signing my poster and the sharpies like not working, and its a shakable one so he shakes it. YOU CAN SEE ON THE POSTER WHERE HE TRIED TO START SIGNING HAHA. It's kind of funny. So then I wanted to ask him this question, which relates to my friend Milly who was supposed to be there but couldnt for personal reasons, and it was like an inside joke between us. We basically jokingly argue over which is better-- lions or penguins. I say lions. She says penguins. It's silly really but she wanted me to ask him which he preferred since she couldnt come. So I said to him 'So, I have a silly question to ask you... which do you prefer lions or pengiuns?" And he just doesn't repsond. He's doing his own thing signing my poster HAHAHA. And then finally he looks up at me and is like "Wait what....?" With the strangest look on his face. He was SO CONFUSED. So I just asked him again and he goes "Uh.. I guess I like pengiuns" hahaha. fail David you were supposed to say lions. LOL JK. It doesnt matter. Then I handed him my letter and batya's letter and grabbed my poster and thanked him. And then I headed back in line.

Part 4 to Yvette's day with David recap is here!

SOURCE.
I was, like, on a tight schedule here when I wrote this, SORRY, so this final part is not going to be exactly as… idk, properly done? Ugh… as the previous three.

BUT FIRST… here are answers to some FAQs:

1. What do you mean his eyes change color?
It really could’ve just been me seeing things, anyway. That’s why I didn’t want to include this in my recap; I don’t want people believing in something that I could’ve accidentally made up. But since so many people keep asking me…
Well, I kept ‘noticing’ his eyes changing color now and then – from green to hazel and back. When I was first introduced to him, his eyes were this soft yet really mesmerizing shade of green… like, a cross between emerald and jade; I could not put a name to that type of green, at all. Later that afternoon, at lunch, I saw the same green shade, but there was also a rich chestnut color outlining the irises and forming tiny streaks across the green. Like, um… wow.
But the exact moment I began to notice there was something strange about his eyes was when I was showing him the box of Honey Bunches of Oats that Gowri and I had bought for him; while David was being absolutely thrilled, I was staring, like a dummy, at his eyes, which had very abruptly turned this mind-blowing shade of hazel; like chocolate and gold blended together. I mean, the color was just so rich, and made his eyes shine like actual stones.
I eventually got curious about why his eyes changed color. I made as much observations as I could, and by late evening I sort of realized…
… David’s eye color changed according to his mood.
If he was feeling really cheerful or excited – basically, really happy – his eyes would turn hazel-gold. If he was feeling normal, or anything else (nervous, tired, bored, curious, etc), his eyes would be green.
And I feel a little dissatisfied each time I come across any new picture of David because they never capture his eye color right. Okay, so the concert and candid pictures are close enough…

David Archuleta Takes Over Delaware

This past Saturday David showed off his basketball skills for fans at Duffy's Hope 1st annual Hollywood Invades the Beach Charity Basketball Game in Lewes, Delaware. We were there to cover it all for you guys. David was joined on the court by celebs such as actor Wesley Jonathan, American Idol contestant Jimmie Allen, and even his mom Lupe!

The day started out with a VIP meet and greet featuring all the celebs seated at a table in the auditorium outside of the gym. David sat at the end graciously signing and taking pictures with all who came, including the state trooper patrolling the room. After this, they all took to the floor for the National Anthem and some warm up drills. David came out all smiles trying his best in his number 7 jersey. While he might have missed all of his shots, he definitely showed A++ for effort. He seemed apprehensive when approached about actually playing in the game. After some coaxing from his mom and BET star Alesha Renee, David took his spot in the lineup.

In between playing on the court, David signed autographs for the fans on the bleachers and took photographs for those who came up and asked. David's mom gave him the play by plays throughout the game as they watched from the sideline. Bobbing along to the music the DJ was playing, David cheered on his teammates. The game was a close one with the celebs winning 79 to 78 against the locals.

After the game, we caught up with David. He had a lot of fun even though he claims he's "really bad at basketball." David's very excited to be working with the new band and looks forward to getting out there and seeing the fans. All you Archuleta fans get excited, David tells us more appearances are to come. David's a sweetheart and definitely a favorite here at Pop City Life. It's always great catching up with him. He's very appreciative for the continued support from all the fans.

My Recap :)

Sorry for the length, I get carried away sometimes. Also all my pictures are Here and Here. :)

So,this was pretty long trip for me. Or exhausting? Lots of traveling. But definitely worth it. I'm from Boston so like, I took a 4 hour bus to NY, then got picked up by my friend Jess (sleepingrose17 on twitter) and stayed with her for the weekend in NJ. Then we drove like 4 hours the next day to the game LOL. (Not like anyone really cares about that part but.)

So, at the game we got there at like 3:40ish? Idk So we had a little bit of waiting around to do. But, early on like around 4, David and Lupe walked by us so of course we started freaking out because it made it more real. And no one was really there yet, so I think they assumed no one would see them LOL.

We had to wait awhile to get our wristbands, but once we finally did we had to wait in line for quite awhile. Some guy came over to us and asked us who we were there to see, so then he interviewed both me and Jess and he asked me WHY i was there to see David, stupid me was like "because I'm a big fan" /facepalm. hahah. Oh well. Then David walked by the entire line and I remember we waved at each other <3

Then once at the meet and greet David was like at the way end of the table, the last person which was perfect, we could take pictures with him lol. And just to be nice we just got all the other random so called "celebs" autographs, and because there were a bunch of people waiting to meet David.

So, I handed the security guard my camera to take my picture with David, but before David saw that I brought a picture with me (the white pants Matt Clayton one, where you can see his face) so he asked me if I wanted it signed, so he signed that. Then we posed for our picture and we were standing there (or he was sitting and I was like bending down barely) for like at least 15 seconds because the security guard couldn't figure out how to use my camera. lmao. And then I just gave david my letter I wrote for him and told him to have a nice day LOLLL. I don't even know why I said that. He said something back to me, but I honestly forget. It was probably like thank you or something.

Then after that me and Jess walked over to Lupe and got a picture with her. She was super nice and I loovee her accent lol.

Then at the game, at first we sat where everyone else was, on the right side bleachers(like across where the celebs sat) but one of the ladies working there said that vips were supposed to sit behind the celebs. So, we like jumped up and went over there. At first we thought that David wasn't playing, so we thought he LITERALLY was gonna sit on the bleachers right in front of us, but that's fine I'm glad he played. He still ended up sitting in front of us.

It was funny and interesting watching how nervous he was about the game and how the girl celeb kept convincing him to play. He's a good runner. Not so much at basketball, but I give him credit for trying to get the ball and stuff. It was really cute how every time he went out there Lupe went too and he kinda stuck by her. Oh, and at one part Lupe told him to get some water and he was like "no, I'm not gonna be able to remember it's mine" LOL. So, he never got any water during the game. Some kids came up to him during it and said something to him and david goes "I try, I try" lol. Actually a lot of kids came over to him while he was sitting asking for pictures and autographs and he never said no to them, it was really cute. Lupe ran her finger down his back while they were sitting and David like jumped, it was pretty hilarious. I also remember one part he turned around randomly and looked at our section of the bleachers, me and Jess were smiling and he looked at us and smiled back. Then later on our entire row of David fans (cause there were like three or two other girls sitting with us) yelled his name and he turned around, smiled and asked us how we were. He's so cute. It was also just very interesting to just see him being David, he never really seemed to sit still for too long. That's all I really remember. I know there's more I'm forgetting, but that's the most of it.

David in Wisconsin!

March 6th, 2009 i saw David on his first solo tour in Madison Wisconsin! it was my second time seeing him live, but first time being close up! thought i'd share my experience a little. would have posted this earlier, but i've been busy. Anyway this concert was really cool for me, because it was on a friday and i had half day at school. right before school let out for the day we had this big volleyball gamed. we played against the teachers, but i couldn't think. my mind was going crazy, just thinking that i was going to be in the same room with david again! We only had to drive an hour to ge there, which was nice. We stood out side for a total of 5 hours, but honestly the time flew for me. I guess that's 'cause of david. he makes a patient at waiting! and hey good things come to those who wait, right?
A lot of really neat things happened that day! while i was in line i gave the shirt i had gotten for david, to eli! and david has actually worn to two concerts. it's black with smiley faces on it haha. As soon as i saw it, it read david all over it! i was totally spazzing after i got the gift to him. as for the concert, it was UNBELIEVEABLE! my parents and i ended up with 4th row, which is amazing, especially because last time we were in the last few rows at an arena! The best part for me, though, was when david sang a thousand miles! in the summer of 08 i became so obessed with david's version of it from when he was 14. i watched ALL the time! Then in December 2008 i went to see david in chicago for the jinglebash. i was so excited! but then we got stuck in traffic so bad we missed david's whole set! So to finally be hearing this live meant the world to me! Also right as david was leaving the stage he accidentally knocked over the microphone! lol. typical david! that's exactly why we love him! :)

"Totally didn't go to see David Archuleta! Psh!"

It has some inappropriate language, just to warn you. But the parts where he mentions David are hilarious.

A giggly Happy Birthday...

Little story from Stephanie:

Well back in august when David was doing his radio promo tour I got on Archuleta Fanscene and found out this radio dj was opening up a contest to be a part of the studio audience with one guest that Monday w/ David... well that Monday was my birthday. You had to be the first ten people to email him after noon and it was already 12:30 but I was like well why not I probably wouldn't even be able to go anyway but why not lol... So I entered the thing and all you had to do was give your name and email. So later that night I was checking my email and the subject said "David Archuleta Monday" and I was like what? lol Because I forgot I even did it but I opened it up and it said I had won a spot in the audience for that Monday! So my awesome dad drove me and my sister down to Lexington on my birthday and we got to see David! And after the interview/performances we got pics and stuff and the radio dj had told David it was my birthday so he wished me a happy birthday. Then when we got our pics I went first and then my lil sister went through and she's 12 but she asked David "Will you sing happy birthday to my sister?" awww it was too cute and I didn't even know she was going to do it lol So he did :) And it was amazing! lol David got the giggles in the middle of the song and he started laughing which made me laugh and then he was like "I'm sorry" and I was like "No thank you sooooooooooo much!" hahaha And then later he asked if I was doing anything else fun for my bday lol.
Aww!

1 Year since Manchester

Today marks 1 year since David did the first rescheduled Demi show and VIP in Manchester, NH, which I went to! I thought I share some pictures and my recap :)

And this is my recap if anyone's interested :)
