Glad Christmas Tidings Autographed CDs Update

This has been posted on ArchuletaFanScene. Thanks, Janey, for the update!

It appears that the autographed copies of Glad Christmas Tidings are no longer available to order online. As I was scooting around the internet, it seems like there are still a couple of ways of obtaining one. Keep in mind, I have not checked this out personally, but these options seem viable.

1) Autographed copies were sent to Deseret Book stores. According to one FOD fan the SLC-Downtown store and said they can ship from there. Call 801-328-8191.

2) Visit or call your local Deseret Book and pick one up or ask if they can ship to you. Check out the store locator here.

3) It’s possible they will redistribute or add to their online resources, so check back here.

There will be other chances to get your copy of the autographed CD, so don't give up hope! :)

Ashley EDIT: The CDs are back in stock on DeseretBook.com! Thanks Fanscene!

Sony Music Philippines promotes Glad Christmas Tidings!

SonyMusicPh:

Born David James Archuleta on December 28, 1990, in Miami, Florida, David was exposed to diverse music genres growing up in Utah, from Latin music on his mother’s side to jazz music from his father’s collection. He was particularly fond of and inspired by gospel, pop, R&B and “soulful” music, as well as Broadway musicals.

“For me, Christmas music has always been such a big time in my life,” David recounts. 2010 saw him singing with the prestigious Mormon Tabernacle Choir at their Christmas extravaganza, which earned him rave reviews.

When he was six, he won the children’s division of the Utah Talent Competition and at age twelve, he became the Junior Vocal Champion on Star Search 2. At sixteen, David became one of the youngest contestants on the seventh season of the popular television program American Idol where he finished as runner-up, receiving 44% of over 97 million votes. Signing with Jive Records, David released his first album in November 2008. The recording, David Archuleta, debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart and has sold over 750,000 copies in the United States and over 900,000 worldwide. His sophomore album, Christmas from the Heart, released in 2009 and debuted at number two on Billboard’s Holiday Albums chart. In 2011 he released his third album, The Other Side of Down.

David Archuleta is the second oldest of five children, attended Murray High School, and is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Boy Scouts of America. He supports numerous charities such as Rising Star Outreach, Invisible Children, Children’s Miracle Network and Stand Up To Cancer. In the aftermath of the 2010 Haiti earthquake, he delved into his Latino roots by lending his voice to the recording of Somos El Mundo, a Spanish version of We Are The World.

Feeling a greater sense of purpose is nothing new to this singer, who overcame vocal cord paralysis that afflicted him at age 13 while competing on CBS’s Star Search. The trying experience was chronicled in David’s 2010 New York Times best-selling autobiography Chords of Strength: A Memoir of Soul, Song, And The Power of Perseverance.

Also, according to The Spectrum, the Cedar City, UT show is a "nearly sold out performance"!
Archuleta to perform

Jason Clark, manager of the Heritage Theater, announced during the council meeting that recording music artist David Archuleta is performing at the Heritage Theater, Dec. 10.

Archuleta took second place in the 2007 season of the television series American Idol and has released three albums.

“My advice to you would be to get tickets immediately,” Clark said. “We already have a near sold-out performance.”

Clark said approximately 40 percent of ticket sales came from the newly upgraded online order service

“That proves the value of that tool,” Clark said.

He added that people were traveling from all over the west and as far as Texas to attend the concert.

BCS Kids:
David Archuleta Vlogs About Japan
David Archuleta likes to connect with his fans and one of those ways are via his vlogs. However, we haven’t seen any or heard from him in a while. But he has made a new one for his fans, giving little updates and just letting his fans know that he is still indeed around. He talks about his visit to Japan and his future stops coming up. You can watch the sweet vlog down below.

He is extremely well spoken and I am happy to see that he vlogged at least one last time. He has been busy and has a new mini tour coming up, but he wanted his fans to know he has not forgotten about them. I really admire that about him. He did not have to do that, but he wanted to and that takes a lot of credit. Best of all he reached out to his overseas fans as well. He really sounds like a sweet guy.

What do you think of his vlog? Are you planning to attend his Christmas tour? I am loving the fact that he regular does holiday tours. It is a nice touch and also proves that he is dedicated to spreading holiday cheer. Maybe he can make some bodies day happen by one of his concerts. I am sure he wishes to help brighten people’s lives up a bit.

Gets your mood up, but calms you down too

What music does that for you? TOSOD definitely does for me :)

EDIT: Buzz from Mindful Of Music:

Upon seeing this tweet from David Archuleta earlier, it got me thinking - what music gets my mood up, but calms me down too? Well one I know for sure is David's music. His album The Other Side of Down, for me, is the definition of what he described. Every song on that album is uplifting yet calming, and is perfect for any occasion. From the positive "The Other Side of Down" to the enjoyable "Parachutes And Airplanes" to the inspirational "Things Are Gonna Get Better", every song on that album puts you in a different mindset and gets you pondering about your life as the music takes you on a journey into David's view of life. David's wisdom and positive outlook that shines through in these songs definitely always puts me in a good mood and calms me down, and I'm sure a lot of Archie fans would agree.

Glad Christmas Tidings CD review!

From Mindful of Music:
Celebrate Christmas early this year with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's new holiday album Glad Christmas Tidings, featuring David Archuleta, out today!

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir alone is uplifting and full of holiday spirit in tracks such as "Three Dancing Carols" and "A Christmas Roundelay". But if that's not enough, David Archuleta lends his voice to half of the songs, and as some have said, David's voice was made for Christmas music. Already having released his own Christmas album, this year David's back with his take on some different holiday tunes like "The Cat and The Mouse Carol" and "Los Pastores a Belen" in Spanish, along with classics like "Joy To The World" and "Silent Night". David always has a majestic yet joyful sound to his voice when singing holiday songs, and there's just something about David singing along with the MoTab Choir that's, and this may sound cheesy, but magical.

This album will captivate you and get you right in the holiday spirit, even if it is September! In my opinion, it's never too early for Christmas music!
