9 years ago today the mayor of Utah declared May 9th as David Archuleta Day!

Can you believe it's been 5 years since the American Idol Season 7?? Today marks 5 years since the Top 2 night! Who else remembers voting for David over and over again that night? I sure do!

5 years ago today....

David's audition on American Idol premiered! 

Ashley edit: Can you all believe it's been 5 YEARS since he first came into our lives? Since we first heard his voice? Since we first saw that smile? 5 YEARS. Half a decade. It's amazing to see how much has happened for both David and us since this audition. It's been such an incredible, memorable journey following David in his career; 20 performances while competing on American Idol, 5 headlining tours and 2 supporting-act tours, 5 albums plus appearing on the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Glad Christmas Tidings CD, a New York Times Best Selling memoir, 3 acting stints and numerous other achievements that we've been lucky to see, and watch this 16 year-old kid turn into such an amazing and confident performer right before our eyes :)

Crush has sold over 2 million copies!

4 years since the Tulsa Idols tour show

We've posted hardly anything from the 2008 Idols tour this summer, but I MUST post David's performance of "Angels" from the last show in Tulsa, which was 4 years ago today. I think this was arguably David's BEST performance of "Angels" to date.

3 years ago today was the Season 7 finale!!

A picture's worth a thousand words.

I thought I'd give this picture some recognition. I don't know about everyone else, but I love it. Not just because he's adorable, but because of what it reminds me of.
It's interesting how one picture can remind you of so many things, and even branch out:
American Idol > 2008 > Season 7 > Top 12 > Journey video


Ok, to be honest, I'm not quite sure what the point of this post is. I just found this picture and remembered how much I loved it and how much it reminded me of Season 7 and stuff. As you can probably tell I'm feeling quite loquacious and creative tonight. So I just thought I'd share :)

Anyone else miss 2008?

I really miss this. "Sweet Caroline" was the best thing ever. Seriously.
