Rickey.orgNew video blog from David Archuleta. This is a nice treat for the fans, even if it’s on YouTube. I mean, YouTube is nice, but David used to have a record career with his schedule and appearances managed by a big company. At least he has not mostly disappeared like the other American Idol contestants. Can his career still be saved?
Meanwhile, David sings “Ribbon in the Sky” with so much passion!
From David Archuleta:
Here’s me singing Ribbon in the Sky – Stevie Wonder a
capella . I talk a little about this weekend in the beginning but the song is later in the blog. Sorry for messing up the end, but hope you guys enjoy it!

This past weekend, David Archuleta was amongst other celebs at a celebrity basketball game for the charity Duffy's Hope. After the game, the whole crew headed out to a restaurant where David was asked to get up and sing. Spur of the moment, he sang "Ribbon in the Sky" by Stevie Wonder, earning a standing ovation from everyone in the restaurant. The next day one of the celebs who participated in the game, Alesha Renee, posted a clip of David performing the song. After retweeting the video, David tweeted saying that he was going to take on the song again in a video blog for the fans, and hours later, David finally did what so many fans have hoped he would someday do: He sang in a blog. After a minute or so of talking, David introduced the song and began. His silky-smooth voice soaring as he transformed from the bubbly boy who was just talking, to the soulful balladeer he becomes the second he opens his mouth to sing. At the end of the song, he went for a high note into his falsetto and didn't quite hit it the first time, which he apologized for afterward. Well David, don't apologize, as you're the one who once said that the imperfections make the song.David singing impromptu in a blog, letting himself get lost in the song so much that he makes a small mistake: that is perfection. That is when you know David is at his best. He admitted that he wasn't even too familiar with the song, but he made it his own and created a connection with it as he sang beautifully. He gave his fans his own ribbon in the sky as he proved once again his innocent love for singing as he created a raw, deep moment for his fans. That right there was pure enjoyment coming from pure talent.
Don't kill me if I say that but I didn't know this song before David sang it, lol! His cover was awesome. After listening to it, I looked for the original version which is really nice too. I know some songs by Stevie Wonder but he's not really my generation. But I'm gonna listen to him a lil bit more :)
