David gets lost in the clouds

David Archuleta Gets Lost in the Clouds

At the start of the new year, David Archuleta made a video blog for his fans talking about the new year and his resolutions. Amongst keeping up with the blogs and working harder on exercising, David threw in that he wanted to ride a blimp. Months went by, and as things became more complicated in David's career, a blimp ride was the least of everyone's thoughts.

This past St. Patrick's Day, David took to youtube with another video blog for his fans, and mentioned that the next day he would be going to California for a "fun thing". Many assumed he might have meant a blimp ride, but weren't certain. When the day came, David became more reticent, vaguely tweeting "Really excited for today!" Fans pondered what he could be so excited about, many guessing that he was finally going on a blimp ride.

A few hours later, David finally spilled the beans and announced that he did "one of the coolest things of his life", taking a Goodyear blimp for a joyride. He then tweeted thanking Goodyear for the invitation, and was obviously very appreciative of their offer. Fans too tweeted Goodyear thanking them for letting David take a ride, seeing how happy it made him to finally achieve his small, yet so meaningful new years wish.

It's obvious David's always loved being high off the ground, transporting upward in the air, in life or in mind. It's even more axiomatic in his music, with songs such as "Zero Gravity", "Elevator", "Parachutes And Airplanes", and an album titled The Other Side of Down. The Other Side of Down is indeed up, which is what all of those songs are about and where David always wants to be. So David's want to ride a blimp isn't too surprising considering the message he puts across in his songs.

Goodyear stated that they were happy to be a part of making David's wish come true, and his fans are happier than ever that David achieved his new years resolution and has gotten the chance to do something he's always wanted to do. In the end, the smile on his face makes everything worth it.

Now what's next on the Archugenda? David tweeted recently that he misses riding a bike, so it seems that is David and his fan's next set goal!
