My Kind of Christmas Tour buzz!

Lehigh Valley Live:
David Archuleta to bring Christmas show to the Sherman Theater

American Idol runner-up David Archuleta has announced he will do a Christmas tour again this year. He will make a stop 7 p.m. Dec. 4 in Stroudsburg, Pa., at the Sherman Theater.

Archuleta performed at the Sherman in 2009 in support of his album, "Christmas from the Heart." The now 20-year-old pop singer gained fame from his 2008 American Idol stint and maintained the wave the same year after releasing his self-titled debut album boasting his mainstream hit "Crush."

This year's show, "My Kind of Christmas," will feature orchestral arrangements of traditional holiday tunes mixed with Archuleta's pop songs, according to a news release. Tickets are currently on sale for members of the Sherman Theater only. Tickets go on sale to the public at noon Friday for $30, according to the theater's website.

David announced his My Kind of Christmas tour this morning on his site. The tour kicks off in Westbury, New York on December 1st. There are VIP packages that went on sale a few hours after the announcement and are around 200 dollars. The rest can be found on his official website.

I’m excited even though the prices are rather steep. I was really surprised how expensive they were but everyone knows his fans will pay. His last Christmas tour was amazing. I will definitely be buying a ticket. Will you?

Neon Limelight:

This holiday season is going to be our kind of perfect now that David Archuleta has announced the first batch of dates for his My Kind of Christmas tour.

“I just can’t wait. I’m so excited about it,” David said in a video blog announcing the trek. “I’ve said many times before that the Christmas tour that I did last time, the Christmas From The Heart tour, was my favorite tour I’ve done, so I just can’t wait to celebrate this time again with being able to do holiday music and being able to do more shows here in the US.”

David also promised more dates will be added to the itinerary. As the dates stand now, the tour will kick-off in Westbury, NY on December 1, and wrap on December 21 in Beaver Creek, CO.

Archuleta released his self-titled debut album in 2008. The Murray, Utah native soared to No. 2 on the Billboard charts, buoyed by his smash single “Crush.” The successful debut was followed up by “Christmas from the Heart” (2009), and “The Other Side of Down” (2010).

Most recently Archuleta is featured on The Mormon Tabernacle Choir's holiday album “Glad Tidings Christmas.” The 12-track album includes live recordings from the Choir's 2010 Christmas concert from Temple Square, a concert attended by more than 80,000 concertgoers last year.
