Thoughts on our new banner?

A few days ago Lynsey and I decided that it was time for a new banner. With David's new site coming, the international shows, summer, etc. I felt like it would be the right time for a change.

While discussing what pictures should be on this new banner, I only had one thought: The current David. While something bright and fun for summer crossed my mind, I felt like it would be best to instead make a banner that represents and even influences the current David. Though this banner isn't the most well done and impressive, it definitely has some meaning.

  • I chose the Idol finale picture because that's one of the most recent, high quality pictures of him, and it just shows David at the moment. It's bright and cheery, and it shows how content he is right now. And if you compare it to old Idol finale pictures, it shows how much he's changed, and yet has stayed the same. Confused yet? lol
  • I chose that picture from the TOSOD shoot on a whim, and in black in white because I saw THIS. I thought the picture looked cool in black and white, and then got a little deeper. The way David has his hand on his chin implies that he's thinking, which is exactly what David's doing at the moment. He's thinking and pondering as he's trying to "figure himself out" with his songwriting, as well as his career plans. He's trying to figure out what he really wants with his music and how he wants to be represented, all with a smile on his face, of course.
  • And lastly, I chose that picture from Myrtle Beach not only because it's really cool, but with the Ferris wheel it represents summer, and I definitely wanted the joy of summer to come across in the banner.

So there you have it, a glimpse of the process and decision making with our newest banner. I assure you it's not always this insightful ;) I'm sure no one ever put this much thought into a banner, and I honestly didn't plan on it being so esoteric, but oh well. So let us know what you think of it! And as always a big thanks to Lynsey for making the banner!
