“Make a Difference Evening”
CALVIN KLEIN, INC. RAISES MUCH NEEDED FUNDS DURING RONALD MCDONLAD HOUSE® NEW YORK’S ANNUAL “MAKE A DIFFERENCE EVENING” TO BENEFIT CHILDREN BATTLING CANCER

Current Pop and Broadway artists David Cook, David Archuleta, and Constantine Maroulis performed for the families and retail industry supporters at Ronald McDonald House® New York

New York, November 9, 2011 – Last night Calvin Klein, Inc. hosted the third annual “Make A Difference Evening” to benefit Ronald McDonald House® New York (RMH-NY). RMH-NY provides a “home away from home” for pediatric cancer patients and their families. The event was headlined by RCA Recording Artist David Cook, with additional performances by American Idol alumni David Archuleta and Constantine Maroulis; who each brought their very own brand of star power to light up the House with smiles and lift the spirits of its residents. Actress Jill Hennessy, star of “Crossing Jordan” and “Law and Order” served as the evening’s emcee.

The event raised more than $325,000. The funds raised support the organization’s mission for providing temporary housing for pediatric cancer patients and their families while the child is undergoing active treatment at one or more of 13 nearby partnering hospitals throughout the city. Ronald McDonald House® New York is the largest RMH-facility out of more than 300 worldwide.

Nearly 175 guests filled RMH-NY’s “Macy’s Living Room,” including the President & CEO of Calvin Klein, Inc., Tom Murry, who was honored as one of the organization’s lead supporters. Mr. Murry also serves on Ronald McDonald House® New York’s Board of Directors. Other notable New Yorkers in attendance at the benefit included Ronald McDonald House® New York Board Vice Chairman Tina Lundgren; and Joseph Gromek, President & CEO of Warnaco.

Mr. Murry said, “The meaningful programs and support systems the Ronald McDonald House® New York offers are invaluable. I am proud to be a part of this worthwhile organization, both personally, as a member of its Board of Directors, and on a corporate level through fundraising initiatives supported by Calvin Klein, Inc.”

“We are very grateful and honored to have such incredible support from the apparel industry and specifically Calvin Klein, Inc.,” said William Sullivan, president and CEO of RMH-NY. “This year’s event brought incredible performances for the children to enjoy and funds for the House to be able to continue to operate at the necessary level in order to provide a warm and loving home for 84 families each night.”
